Reimagining a 1970s office building
ASTRA STUDIOS provided architecture + interior design services to renovate and add an addition to a 1970s office building.
The design removed existing walls that divided the first floor into small, dark offices and reimagined the space as daylight filled, intuitive to navigate for clients, and supportive of health for all occupants.

Design Features
The renovation allowed for new spaces which helped expand the services provided. Biophilia, or our innate connection to nature, was designed into the interior. This presents itself as added windows which allow natural daylight in all of the rooms, views of nature or natural elements in the decor and finish selections; and nature-based color palettes throughout the building.
Seeing the potential in an old, distressed office building
Project Overview
Advanced Wellness Center’s mission is to support health and healing through a variety of modalities including chiropractic care. Their original office space was small and outdated, not allowing them to grow their business.
Dr. Troy Walker and Dr. Heather Walker found an old, distressed office building down the street and immediately saw its potential. Built in the 1970’s, the building was originally designed with a smaller first floor than the second floor. This created an 8 foot overhang on one side of the building, the perfect opportunity to capture new square footage without adding much cost.
The Results
Through this renovation, Advanced Wellness Center has been able to grow their team, grow their services and grow their profits which get reinvested into their business and the local community.
